Vedder Crossing Bridge

 

The Vedder Crossing Bridge (1948) is still in use today...

here the river makes an interesting name change...

on east side of the bridge the river is called the Chilliwack River

and on the west side, the Vedder River.

 

 

I am not a fisherwoman : ),

but this is a very well known popular fishing area.

Dairy Barn Charm - Prairie Central Rd

 

Taken a few weeks ago...

this dairy barn has been well maintained...

 

...interestingly enough,

it is msissing one window...

 

...in the hay loft.

Afternoon Cheer

 

There is nothing better

 than late afternoon sun

Foggy World

 

...we are in a foggy, wet world...

My Garden - Colour in winter

 

 

The Barberry Bush berries  gives a cheerful red accent

to my winter garden...

 

 

 

...and the Beautyberry  bush is still

in full colour.  What is not to like about these?  :  )

Soaring

While shooting this picture I noticed a man walking across
the gravel embankment of the river.....

...when suddenly numerous seagulls burst into the air...
and then I realized...

 

 

...how many, many birds had been sitting quietly...

 

 

..and now, disturbed, were soaring in circles above the river.

Valley View in Winter

Here, on the West Coast , we enjoy soggy, mild winters

and very little snow....

...but we have a delightful  front row view of snowy winter

 on the mountain ranges.

 and what really appealed to me was the stunning back drop...

Tea House - Grow your Blog

Hi!  My name is Nell and I am joining Vicki's

A big Thanks to Vicki!

 

I am a Christian wife, mother and grandmother

and began this blog in 2011 so as to have a reasonable excuse

for taking so many photos, while my dear husband

waits patiently, ... so patiently while

I take one more photo.

I enjoy taking photos of God's beautiful world,

I spend hours tending my large flower garden,

 running is my best medicine,

and I love music.  : )

 

We live in beautiful British Columbia, Canada.

 

 

 

Last August, while visiting Lake Louise

 we hiked ran up the trail

to the teahouse...

(The Lake Agnes tea house, rebuilt in 1981

has been serving tea since 1905)

 

 

 ... a rustic teahouse that

offers a menu of at least

a hundred different teas.

 

 

We enjoyed the expansive view

as we sipped our hot chocolate,

a memorable morning

in God's beautiful world.

(yes, they had hot chocolate on the menu as well. : )

Fog Creeping in at Sunset

The setting sun...

...and the golden tinged, creeping fog...

My Garden - Snowberries

 

The snowberry (shrub) adds interest

to the winter garden...

 

 

 

...however the waxy berries are poisonous.

 

This Daylily looks like it is going to burst into bloom...

...it does not appear to know that it is winter.....: )

 

Winter Water

Enjoying the gorgeous sunhine today...
...the blue sky reflected in the Chilliwack River.....

 

...the frigid water never ceases

to rush along it's journey.

Ice

The last week has seen freezing temperatures,
creating ice patterns on puddles and.....

...there is so much salt on the road
it appears a startling white.

Barn Charm - Overgrown

...neglected, but picturesque
