My Garden - Iris Bees

 

I have some lovely purple Irises

planted in a long row

along the driveway...

 

 

...and they always amaze me

when I see them in full bloom.

 

 

Whenever the sun comes out

(which hasn't been often lately)

the bees are very busy...

 

 

...bustling from flower to flower...

 

 

...and humming as they work.

Barn- Quick Stop

 

I wanted to take a photo of this barn each time I drove by...

It has rustic charm

and appears more dilapidated each time

I see it... 

 

...so this morning I took a few really quick shots

through the side window with my point and shoot...

 

...because the road is a busy one

and, as you can see in the mirror,

more traffic is coming.

Hurry, quick!

Taken a few weeks ago,

I grabbed my camera

and shot a quick photo out of the car window...

 

...as the tractor lined up

with Mt. Cheam in the background.

Of course, I didn't notice

the beautiful telephone line in the center of the photo.  : )

My Garden - Charming Chives

 

Close to the door of my dwelling

I have a small clump of chives

nestled in my Perennial garden.. 

 

...so I can quickly run outside to snip off

a few fresh stems to spice up my salads...

 

Not only are the flowers charming,

they are edible as well.  : )

 

Don't you think they make a great addition to my garden?

Trail Race and Alouette Lake

 

 

Last week Saturday we took part

 in a 14 km trail race in

Golden Ears Provincial Park.

 

 

 

The race begins along the lakeshore

 and then up into the trees and onto the hiking trails.

The scenery of  Alouette lake

is breathtaking each time we visit there.

 

The beaches were peaceful 

and will be empty until summer...

 

.....and the water was quiet and still.
