Barn - Weathered By Time
This barn has been on my to do list for a long time...
...very old, rustic...
...and still used for storage...
...the siding is warped and twisted by time and weather...
...just waiting for me to take it's picture. : )

Why are They Here?
Last week, on a beautiful day,
I visited the lake on a whim...
...and there I saw this trawler,
an unusual sight,
as we usually see pleasure power boats and jet skis.
I'm a very curious person,
and I really wonder what they were doing there
on this beautiful morning. : )

My Garden - Today's Shades of Pink
Pink is such a spring colour...
...and today it dominates my perennial garden...
.....as more and more plants
begin to show their true colours...
Pink is such a happy colour
and goes so well with the different shades of green. : )

Lake in April
The dock is empty and quiet,
waiting for the summer crowd...
...such a beautiful time of year...
..as the water continues to lap the shore.
Cultus Lake in April. : )

Barn - Yard in Red
As I was traveling to a town west of here,
I planned to take some photos of an old barn
which is on my list of to do barns.
On this beautiful spring day,
I also noticed this picturesque
barnyard across the field.
Gotta love red barns! : )

A Peaceful Day
Quiet on the beach
although the trees are developing leaves.....
...calm on the water
where a pair of ducks can enjoy
a peaceful day.

My Garden - Colours and Friends
In full bloom,
this pink Magnolia makes a huge impact
in my garden.....
...I love the cheery Primroses which are bright
little beacons on dark days...
...and the tiny flowers of the Brunneria
which look like blue 'Forget- me- nots.'
I had some blocks of wood that I had used in my garden,
so for fun
I made these little friends.
I'll leave them there for a bit. : )

Quiet in the Springtime
The beautiful weather drew me
to the empty beaches of Cultus Lake,
even though there was a slight chill in the air
and the mountain tops were still covered with fresh snow.
The lakeside homes are perched close
to the waters edge...
...but a large part of the lake is surrounded by a lovely
provincial park and numerous trails. : )

Mountain Colour
Love the way the spring colours
are creeping up the mountainside.
Spring is here,
...including the Dandelions
on the bottom right of the photo.
(For those of you who remember,
the stumps are gone. See
here

Barn - Extra Long
A very looooong barn,
used for dairy cows at one time
but now the fields are filled with berries.
The cement silo is missing it's hat,
but the old barn has been redone with steel panels. : )

My Garden - Spring Garden in Fulll Bloom
White Arabis, Purple Aubrieta, and a pink Rodo in the center
Our hillside garden is in full bloom!
The purple Aubrieta belongs to the cabbage family,
but this creeping plant is much prettier, isn't it
With the cool temperatures,
the heather alongside the gravel path
also continues to bloom. : )

Visiting Deer
These beautiful deer came sauntering
through the back of our acreage,
as they often do...
..nibbling on grass and stopping to take in the sights...
...and to ask , "What are you doing?"
...but when they started to nibble on my Japanese maples...
I said. "That is ENOUGH!!!
...and they ran off...
...a few feet.

Barn - Blue Roof Appeal
A rather unusual shaped barn
updated with a colourful blue metal roof...
..this is still a working farm.
Notice the milk house in front of the cement silo,
where the milk is cooled and stored before shipping.
With rustic wooden siding,
this barn is just a hop and skip down the road
from last weeks barn charm shown
here.

My Garden - Hyacinths
I always forget where and what bulbs I have planted,
until they open their blooms in spring
with a burst of colour!
Hyacinths always amaze me with their complexity,
and this week I found these peachy coloured blooms
in a sheltered corner in my garden. : )

...and brighten the world with their vivid greens...
...but for now

Barn - Original Windows
Original wooden siding...
...original windows...
in an original barn
...built many years ago close to the road
and on a slight swale
to stay high and dry in case of spring flooding! : )
