Mountain Memorial

One of the notable mountains
seen on last week's hike, here
was Mt Slesse, (meaning fang),
rising above the narrow valleys
filled with early morning summer haze.
It was the site of a 1956 plane crash (see here)....

...so tragic and now a memorial.

Looking north towards MT Cheam and Lady peak
and miles of wilderness.

  1. It's so beautiful but what a sad reminder of the lives lost in the plane crash.

  2. Oh those beautiful mountains. I got a short peek at them from just west of Calgary last weekend, but would have loved to get closer.Unfortunately my visit to Calgary was to see a very sick SIL,so the mountains had to wait.
