Foggy, Foggy Night

With the beautiful weather
we have been having
this October....

....we have seen amazing sunsets,
but for me this one takes the cake...
...the sun disappearing into the fog.

My Garden - Fall Interest

The swaying grasses offer
a lot of interest to the garden
at this time of the year...

...as well as the hard and prickly
seed heads of Echinacea

Old Farmhouse

Something about the shapes
and colour in this scene
asked me to photograph it....

This house looks abandoned
but someone is actually living here.

Creeping In

Absolutely delightful,
our sunny fall days
lead to rolling fog
advancing in the early evening...

...marching in from the west coast waters.

Drifting Fog

Sunny weather in the fall
often brings early morning fog
along the coast and in the valleys...
...fascinating,
as it changes minute by minute!

My Garden - Crispy Leaves

I love fall colour...
...and the gorgeous weather we have been having...

...keep the leaves crisp as oppose to soggy...

...and I am enjoying these bonus sunny days
in my garden.

Traction

Looks like there is great traction
on these steel wheels....

....on this abandoned tractor
 in prairie country.

Golden Grass

Grasses add such lovely colour to a fading garden...

...with touches of red and gold
to cheer up the fall scene,
 before winter turns them
to a faded brown.
Have an enjoyable Thanksgiving Day!

Adding bright colour to my garden
all summer long,
Coreopsis continues to bloom
on into October.
Every time I look at them they make me smile.  :  )

Barn - No Trespassing

Happily driving along one day last week....

...I came around the corner
and this ram shackled barn leaped up
into the left side of my vision,
...guarded by
an amazing number of no trespassing signs...

...I  quickly shot a few pictures out of my car window
of the rustic barn and fall foliage.

Driving along yesterday
I had to snap a photo of the fresh snow
on the beautiful Golden Ears peaks.

My Garden - Pink Aster

As the garden begins to slow down
and foliage changes colour...

...this pink aster
warms my heart...

with it's delicate beauty.
I think it is a real gem.  :  )

Autumn Rain

We have had a very rainy week...

...and the clouds offer fascinating shapes to the landscape...

...as the trees begin to take on autumn hues.
Autumn is here for sure.

Barn At Minter Gardens

Once a farm,
the Minters saw this picturesque site,
and here created their
beautiful gardens,
which became world renown.

What a lovely setting for this charming old barn!
