Enchanting Falls

 
Today we went to see Flood Falls,
a short hike on a winding wooded path,
a short distance from the road.

 
The falls plunge 1200 feet in 9 distinct drops...
 


 
...but we could only see the bottom 250 feet.



 
The falls flow into a pond and then
the water quietly disappears into the ground.
I wonder where it goes?
