My Garden - Transport

When I see a Japanese Maple (Bloodgood) on as a $20 special
at the local Garden Center,
 I can not resist...
...I can't let such a good deal pass me by,
even though I only have a little Escape.

A kindly lady walked by, stopped and asked in amazement...
"Can you fit all that in?"

Oh, I have done this numerous times...
with leaves waving gently in the passenger seat
 as I drive home.

...And there she is,
safely home!
Mission accomplished.
(Notice the other red maples in my yard : ))

First Crop - Haylage

It has been a beautiful, summery week for the dairy farmers,
...perfect for making haylage ,
which does not need to be as dry as hay bales.

As you can see, the front wagon is almost full..
and the next wagon is driving in behind, waiting for it's turn,
...very efficient.

...Another farmer uses a silage truck,
which is much quicker
when travelling a greater distance to the farm yard.

Barn - Barns and Windrows

The weather is hot and summerlike and hazy...
...and you can see the hay windrows in the fields...

...of this 1950's farm which once was used as a movie set...
(All but the second house is original)

...and Mt. Baker, in Washington,
is just peaking over mountain.  : )
